This month we were able to sit down with Mrs. Barr to learn more about her. We know she is really busy and we are thankful she give up some of her time to answer our questions so we could get to know her better!
How do you like being an Assistant Principal?
I am always happy to come in. I LOVE Mondays because I miss everyone over the weekend.

Do you have a pet?
I have two dogs. Stewie is a big dog. He weighs 170 pounds but he still thinks he is a lapdog. We also have a dog named Kane. He is a K9 dog. He works with my husband as a police dog. He cries when my husband leaves the house and doesn’t take him with him.

I like to read crime and mystery. I always try to solve the mystery before the end of the book.
What is your favorite subject in school?
I liked math and reading. Math was my favorite because reading was hard for me. I became a better reader as I got older and practiced more. I always circle words I don’t know to look up in a dictionary or thesaurus and that has helped me as a reader.

We were able to interview Coach Trotta for this month. We told him he would be famous and he told us he already is famous! We were surprised by some of the things we learned about him. Especially about what he told us about chickens and when we asked him if he always wears shorts he said he only wears pants to church. We couldn’t include everything he told us. He likes to talk a lot.
What is your favorite sport?
Baseball. I like to watch and play baseball.
Who is your favorite PE teacher?
Brother Shane. He was my math teacher also.

Did a PE teacher inspire you?
Yes. Brother Shane who was also my high school math teacher.
How does it feel to be a PE teacher?
I have the best job at South Grade!

We asked students from every grade what their FAVORITE subject is and the results are in! (Mr. Forman and Mrs. Hight had a bet about which subject would win. It looks like Mrs. Hight LOST and is going to have to teach a math lesson to the 5th Graders!!!!)
